Hoy martes en Madrid y el jueves en Zaragoza. Tera Melos llegan de California para atronar su math-rock, progresivo, instrumental, con leche o como te guste a ti el café. Un directo esperado no, esperadísimo, a cargo de unos fanáticos de los parques de atracciones. Le pedimos a uno de ellos (prefiere mantenerse en el anonimato) la banda sonora ideal y nos entrega la siguiente guía nivel experto: “Me encantan los parques de atracciones. Sobre todo Disneylandia. Pasé la mitad de mi infancia en el sur de California y la otra mitad en el norte de California. He ido un millón de veces. Hace un par de años conseguí un pase anual y fui sin parar. Cuando sacamos nuestro último disco escondí copias por todo el recinto y dejé pistas para que la gente los encontrara. Por algo lo llaman el Reino Mágico ¿no? Para quienes no solemos salir de nuestras propias cabezas, Disneylandia es una vía de escape mágica para huir de la realidad. Suena rimbombante pero es así. Es difícil de explicar. Da igual. Una vez intenté pasar todo el día en el parque con mi iPod pero la música ambiente era tan buena que lo apagué (tengo la banda sonora Sounds of Disneyland entera en el iPod). Man, this Happy Birthday blog is going to be a doozy. To try and put into words how much Nick Reinhart means to me and what his music means to all of us here at Sargent House is such a huge feat. You have been the most loyal person to me and the house and I can’t tell you how much it means to me. You inspire me constantly - I’ve never met someone so seemingly normal on the outside to be so absolutely extraordinary on the inside. Your talent is astounding to me. Believing in you and your band Tera Melos , bygones and your solo music comes so easy to me even though it took a long hard road for it to begin dawning on others just how important and creative it all really is. Tera Melos are an experimental rock band from Sacramento, CA. We sat down for a quick chat with Nick Reinhart to talk about their upcoming record, past and future collaborations and prank phone calls.

Sean: You guys are working on a new record right now? How’s that going?

‪Nick: Good. We’ve done most of all the basic tracking- guitar, drums and bass. Started vocals before fIREHOSE tour. It is looking like we’ll finish everything up after Europe‬.

‪S: Are you guys taking any different approaches with this record? Anything different that you are excited about?‬

N: Well we initially set out to make a more back to basics, mellow, minimal record. At least that was my idea around this time last year. But that totally did not happen. Haha. The vibe of the record is a little more straightened out than before. Although our idea of straightened out is probably still pretty out there for all intents and purposes. All the new stuff is very exciting, mostly just because it exists in territories that we haven’t really explored.‬

Nathan Latona and John Clardy of Tera Melos hung out with one of our absolute favorite bass men Mike Watt while they were on tour together with fIREHOSE , so here is the  Watt From Pedro show April 8th (not 2011, actually 2012) edition live from Seattle. You can hear it all right HERE.

Tera Melos have spent the last month recording their new album (we can’t wait!)  So, now it’s time for them to hit the van hard! In April they will be playing some of the US reunion shows of the legendary fIREHOSE before flying off to headline their own tour EU/UK/Russia & Ukraine Tour, they will be gone for months overseas!All Tera Melos show comes very highly recommended from us of course, so you all must attend when they come through your city. Bring them strange things, they like that. Also feel free to hug them and tell them that’s from us. We will miss them while they are gone. Tera Melos will be heading overseas in May to headline a massive UK/EU tour after playing some of the April re-union shows with legendary fIREHOSE in the states. Below are the UK and Ireland shows of the tour only. We will be announcing the rest of the tour dates soon, just finishing up the last few.  But we can say they will be hitting France, Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany and more - stay tuned all dates coming soon.
